Spring Mill Lake Remains Open During Dredging

A restoration project that involves dredging sediment from Spring Mill Lake at Spring Mill State Park is underway, but visitors can still use the lake for fishing and boating.

The boat ramp will remain closed for eight weeks during the project, but watercraft that can be launched from shore will still have access.

Dredging the 23-acre lake will remove approximately 65,000 cubic yards of dredge material. This project will provide better recreational access without affecting the habitat for fish, turtles, otters, waterfowl and other wildlife.

Some areas of the lake might be temporarily closed, but the public will still be allowed to access the lake.
