CEDA UK Spring Seminar Starts Next Month

Central Dredging Association (CEDA) will hold their spring seminar, named Overcoming the Challenges of Dredging in Scotland, on Tuesday, 12th May 2015, in Glasgow.

With the ports and harbors of Scotland playing a vital role in the country’s economy through imports, exports, offshore energy and fishing, the creation and maintenance of waterways is of fundamental importance.

CEDA will hold their spring seminar in Scotland and will brought together a distinguished panel of speakers to make presentations on behalf of ports, regulators, consulting engineers and contractors.

The presentations will primarily be Scotland specific, but will be informative for anyone with links to the dredging industry.

Speakers:

Captain Stephen Gobbi, Port of Ardersier – Dredging requirements and challenges for the re-opening of the Port of Ardersier;

Peter Neville-Jones, Technical Director, URS Ports and Maritime Division – Updates to BS6349:Part 5: Code of practice for dredging and land reclamation and EN7 Earthworks Part 6 Land Reclamation with dredged hydraulic fill;

Keith Dee, Head of Estimating, Boskalis Westminster Ltd – Procurement process and contract execution for Aberdeen Harbour Entrance Improvement Works;

Speaker TBC, Marine Scotland, Planning & Policy – Implications of Pre-dredge Analysis and Best Practical Environmental Options in the Marine Licensing process;

John McCarey,  Chief Civil Engineer, McLaughlin & Harvey – Best Practicable Environmental Option by combining projects in the Cromarty Firth (Nigg South Quay Development & Invergordon Phase 3 Development).
