The finish of the New Suez Canal dredging project is in sight.

This mega-project, to dredge more than a million cubic meters of sand a day, is unprecedented in terms of speed, manpower and equipment being used for the works.

According to the latest figures from the Suez Canal Authority, approximately 216 million cubic meters of material has been dredged out of the targeted 258 million. The executive director of dredging works for the project, Wagdi Zaki, said that some 38 dredgers are currently deployed in the waterway.

Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. has just released a video showing how the New Suez Canal dredging project is pushing the boundaries of the industry.
