Picture of the Day: CSD Zheng He Dredging the Suez

Jan De Nul Group, expert in dredging and marine construction activities, has just released a photo of its cutter suction dredger (CSD) Zheng He working in the New Suez Canal, Egypt.

According to Jan De Nul, CSD Zheng He is the record-holder in dredging volume. She dredged 20 million m³ since the start of the project. Her sister vessels CSD Fernao de Magalhaes and CSD Ibn Battuta did 15 million m³ each.

The company is a part of the Consortium, consisting of NMDC, Boskalis, Van Oord and Jan De Nul, that will dredge over 194 million m³. At the moment, 24 dredgers of the Consortium are working on the new Canal.
