Equipment Failure to Impact Dredging

A mechanical equipment failure will impact dredging planned for the Cook Road boat launch, announced City of Kelowna.

Work was originally scheduled to begin Monday, August 10. The boat launch will remain open until further notice.

The delay is unfortunate. It’s important to get this work done in a timely manner,” said parks and building manager, Terry Barton. We will continue to work with the contractor to reschedule the dredging in the fall.”

The City will continue to monitor conditions in the best interest of public safety. It is anticipated work will begin in mid-October during the next fish window as regulated by the Province.

Boaters are encouraged to exercise caution when using the boat launch and should consider other boat launches in the area.
