A proposal received from Government of Rajasthan to develop Inland Shipping Port at Jalore, which would be connected to the Arabian Sea by developing a channel along the Kutch Creek, was discussed by the officers of the Rajasthan Government with the officials of Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI).
It was decided that a pre-feasibility study be undertaken by Government of Rajasthan containing all the technical parameters required to assess the possibility of developing the port at Jalore.
IWAI has finalized the Terms of Reference for the study, which has been forwarded to Government of Rajasthan for necessary action.
