Coastal and Canal Zone Development Conference Nears

Following the completion of the New Suez Canal project, Egypt is embarking on a number of other new projects with the same goal, establishing itself as a premier destination for transhipment of cargoes.

These include the construction of a new $2 billion grain terminal at Damietta, as well as the development of port and inland infrastructure across the country.

At the centre of these projects is the SCZone. Outlined during the Egypt Economic Development Conference that took place in March, this project will see the area around the Suez Canal developed into a special economic zone with the ultimate aim of developing new industrial, logistical, residential and infrastructural facilities to support this new area.

The Coastal and Canal Zone Development Conference, taking place from 17-19 November in Cairo, will act as a platform for the stakeholders of these projects to outline their strategies for development and meet with potential suppliers, investors and partners in order to advance these projects and achieve their goals.
