Public Hearing on Little Silver Lake Dredging

The Borough of Point Pleasant Beach will hold a public hearing on its application to fund the Little Silver Lake dredging program.

The hearing is scheduled for tomorrow, at 6 p.m. in the Point Pleasant Beach council chambers in the municipal building at 416 New jersey Avenue. Borough representatives will be on hand to answer questions and discuss the project.

The Borough of Point Pleasant Beach is applying to the New Jersey Environmental Infrastructure Financing Program for a low interest loan of $3,075,000.

According to a legal notice posted on the borough website, the money will be used to dredge approximately 21,500 cubic years of excess sediment from the lake.

The lake will be dewatered and the sediment excavated and stockpiled in the adjoining municipal parking lot. Clean material will be kept separated from that requiring regulated disposal.

Once the material is dried, any regulated material will be loaded into trucks and transported to Bayshore Recycling Corp located in Keasbey, Middlesex County for processing.
