Manson Wins Richmond Dredging Gig

Manson Construction Co. of Seattle, Washington has been announced as the winner of a $6.7 million worth contract for Richmond Harbor maintenance dredging project.

According to the U.S. Department of Defense, the estimated completion date of this dredging scheme is December 29, 2015.

Bids were solicited via the Internet with two received. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, San Francisco District, was the contracting activity.

Richmond Harbor is located in Contra Costa County, California. The harbor’s dredging project provides annual maintenance dredging of an 600 feet wide Outer Harbor Channel to a depth of 45 feet, from Southampton Shoal in San Francisco Bay to the Richmond Long Wharf, including the Maneuvering Area.

The maintenance dredging also includes a reach leading into the Inner Harbor Channel 600 feet wide to 38 feet to Point Richmond; a reach 500 feet wide to 8 feet with a 1,260-foot diameter turning basin at Point Potrero; a reach 850 feet wide to 38 feet to the Santa Fe Channel; and the Santa Fe Channel, which is 200 feet wide and 30 feet deep.
