Port Manatee Master Plan Updated

The Manatee County Port Authority has announced its plans to host on October 22nd workshop that will provide information on – and gather public input for – an update being prepared for the port’s master plan.

The workshop is slated to be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Port Manatee Intermodal Center in Palmetto. Because the building is on port property, those attending are asked to bring a driver’s license or other valid government-issued photo ID to the access control center at Port Manatee’s north gate.

We encourage and welcome input and ideas as the process of updating Port Manatee’s master plan moves forward,” said Carlos Buqueras, Port Manatee’s executive director. “The updated plan will identify growth opportunities and help set the course for the future success of Manatee County’s regional seaport.”

The update is being undertaken to develop a five-year capital improvement program and 10-year strategic maintenance and expansion plan for Port Manatee, as well as propose a development program for multiple economic development encouragement areas in the port’s vicinity. The update is proceeding in accordance with Florida statutory requirements.
