Bay Shore Harbor Dredging Underway

Maintenance dredging of the Bay Shore County Park Harbor has begun and will continue through October 31, 2015.

The Bay Shore County Boat Launch will be closed during the works, announced the Bay County in a release. Included in the works are dredging, dewatering, and hauling operations until the proposed surface elevations are achieved.

The harbor has increased sediment load from years of accumulation and it has made it difficult for boaters with larger vessels to use the landing. It is imperative we complete this so the landing can remain open for public access to the bay of Green Bay,” said Matt Kriese with the Park Department.

The main aim of the project is to remove excess material from the harbor bottom to create a uniform depth of about 5.5’ below the existing water surface elevation.
