Dredging Days for Students

For young professionals and students interested in joining the world of dredging, the CEDA Dredging Days has a program of technical and social events on offer.

As always, the technical content is the main event and this year offers a particularly strong program of carefully curated papers focusing on sustainable and innovative dredging solutions for ports.

From 5-6 November, CEDA Dredging Days delegates will experience a series of focused presentations, from specialists from across the CEDA (EMEA) region who will share their knowledge and insights on the topic.

As an important part of the program, the Young CEDA activities create a platform for less-experienced CEDA members to express and present themselves, whilst giving them the opportunities to network with more experienced dredging professionals.

To facilitate this, there is a dedicated area – Young CEDA Corner – in the exhibition space, where students and Young CEDA members will be able to meet each other and where more senior people will be able to find them.

At this moment, the following nationalities have registered at Young CEDA: the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Greece, Hungary, Russia and this number is set to rise.

The conference program includes:

  • The student program – participating students will be “looked after” by members of the Young CEDA Commission both at the conference and in Rotterdam and will introduce them to other students, young professionals and more senior members of the dredging community;
  • Young CEDA social events – presenting networking opportunities including an icebreaker event scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, 4 November;
  • Young CEDA pitch talk sessions – providing a dynamic series of 7 short, sharp presentations on the overall theme of the conference.
