World Water Works in Antwerp

World Water Works, a hydraulic engineering conference and exhibition, will be held on 23 and 24 March 2016 at Antwerp Expo in Antwerp, Belgium.

This event will cover topics from hydraulic engineering, the accessibility of ports and waterways, coastline and shoreline projects, bridge, lock and tunnel building and the design and construction of offshore seaports.

The venue of Antwerp has been specifically chosen in view of the numerous developments in the Scheldt Basin.

Examples of the multi-billion projects that will be discussed in detail include the Seine-North Europe Canal (speaker: B. Reeskamp, Royal Haskoning DHV), the Mekong Delta Plan in Vietnam (speaker: M. Tonneijck, Haskoning Singapore Pte Ltd) and the dredging of the Panama, Suez and Nicaragua Canals (speaker: Mr. Jan Fordeyn, Jan de Nul Group).

Attention will also be paid to Dutch and Belgian projects, including the new lock at Terneuzen (speaker: D. Schalck, Port of Ghent), the Maasvlakte 2 project (T. Vellinga, Port of Rotterdam) and the new sea lock at IJmuiden (speaker: A. van der Hout, Deltares).
