Wyong Shire Council decided at the November 25th meeting to extend dredging of the Entrance Channel for another week.

The council resolved, as a matter of urgency, to extend the dredging, allowing further renourishment of the Entrance Beach.

Council’s Mayor, Doug Eaton said: “ This is an important, iconic beach in our Shire and we want to ensure it can be used by the many visitors and our community who love coming to The Entrance over the summer months.”

Works were due to conclude this week but the council felt that pumping more sand onto the beach may just be enough to ensure the beach can be open for the whole of summer.
