Kananook Creek Dredging Project Starts Monday

Frankston City Council is about to begin maintenance dredging works of the Kananook Creek entrance, located some 35km south of Melbourne.

The dredging, clearance and disposal of marine sediments, sand and debris has been set to begin on Monday, December 7th 2015 with the completion set for late December.

According to the VRCA notice, dredging works will be carried out by a vessel-based sub-dredge with submersible electric slurry pump.

Dredged material will be deposited for beach renourishment at the adjacent Frankston beach.

On-water plant, equipment and potential hazards to navigation arising from the works will be marked and lit as per IALA standards.
