Altona Safe Harbor Dredging Wrapped Up

The Victorian Regional Channels Authority has announced completion of the Altona Safe Harbor dredging works.

Hobsons Bay City Council is responsible for dredging the harbor annually in order to ensure a safe depth for boats entering and exiting the boat ramp.

The dredged sediment was pumped to the nearby beach where it was used for creation of the Altona Dog Beach, one of the best dog beaches in Melbourne.

Now, with the 2015 Altona Safe Harbor dredging completed, the city is planning to recommence works in August 2016, permitting beach and weather conditions.
