IADC to Host More Conferences in the Future

The International Association of Dredging Companies (IADC) is interested in hosting more conferences in the future following the success of its 50th Anniversary Conference, “From Birth to Boom: Asian Maritime Megastructures”.

The conference which was held at the Island Shangri-La Hotel in Hong Kong on October 23, 2015 was attended by 130 top-level executives from a range of industries from across the globe. It also featured notable speakers including keynoter, Robert D. Kaplan, author and thought leader on foreign affairs, who spoke on “The Maritime Future of Geopolitics”.

René Kolman, Secretary General, IADC: “It was a big success. This was the first time that senior management of dredging companies met with such a large group of clients and sponsors.”

He added that sponsors had commented that the conference was well-organised and had good content and speeches.

According to Kolman, IADC could also be hosting similar conferences in the future. “I have proposed to the IADC board to organize such a conference every three years,” he said.

The IADC board will consider these conferences depending on the location and topics.
