Port of Alsea Dredging Project up for Comment

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking public comments on a permit application for dredging work in Lincoln County, Oregon.

The applicant, Port of Alsea, is proposing a one-time dredging project for a total of 30,500 cubic yards to be removed from the Alsea Bay.

Dredging will take place near the port launch ramp and boat basin in Waldport, Lincoln County.

The equipment that will be used for sediment removal will include an Ellicott Swinging Ladder (SL) hydraulic suction dredge with cutter head. A push boat dredge tender and a small boat will help maneuver the hydraulic dredge and pipeline.

According to the applicant, the dredge material will be used for a beach nourishment project southwest of the Port of Alsea.

The deadline for sending comments on the described work is February 15th 2016.
