Up to 80% of the damage in hydraulic cylinders occurs due to corrosion, leading to serious issues such as operational costs and delay damages which can lead up to 300.000 euros a day.

So far the detection of corrosion took place through visual inspection.

C-Cube, a company originated from Delft, came up with a new solution. They developed a sensor that detects and predicts corrosion, far before it gets visual.

The EPQube is a high tech corrosion sensor which measures the permeability of the coating and detects early stage corrosion up to three years before it gets visual. This enables smart maintenance which prevents unexpected downtime due to failure of hydraulic cylinders.

EPQube has been tested and verified with major dredging companies around the world and has already been applied on several cutter suction dredgers.
