Able Boosts Its Fleet with New Dredging Grab

Able UK has announced a further expansion of its fleet with the acquisition of a new heavy duty dredging grab which will be used in conjunction with Europe’s largest mobile harbor crane, based at Able Seaton Port on the Tees.

Able has invested EUR 220,000 in the 28 tonne grab supplied by Verstegen, a manufacturer of mechanical grabs.

With a capacity of 16 cubic meters, it will further increase the versatility of the Leibherr LHM 600 mobile harbor crane which has been operating at Able Seaton Port for the past two years.

Able UK Logistics Manager, Mark Nixon, said: “This latest acquisition further enhances the range of world-class state-of-the-art equipment available at our developments on the Tees and the Humber and which are also make available for hire.”

Other equipment in the Able fleet includes self-propelled modular transporters as well as rough terrain cranes, crawler cranes, earth-moving equipment and the largest self-propelled roller with compaction monitoring system.
