Gemak Group, a ship repair and ship building group from Turkey, has been awarded in September 2015 by Jan De Nul Group to undertake the middle life refit project of their cutter suction dredger “Leonardo Da Vinci”.

The scope of the project included removal of 1200 tons cutter ladder from the vessel, blasting interior and exterior areas and silicone paint application.

Cutter ladder removal and refitting operation was carried out by using 1500 tons lifting capacity SPMTs during dry-dock period.

Gemak Group consists of Gemak Tuzla Shipyard (established in 1969), Gemak TGE Shipyard (acquired in 2000), Gemak Neta Steel & Pipe Fabrication Yard (established in 2008) and Gemak Altinova Yard (established in 2013).
