Royal HaskoningDHV Wins MMIA 2016 Award

Royal HaskoningDHV has won the ‘Engineering Company of the Year’ award at the Mersey Maritime Industry Awards (MMIA) 2016. 

Maritime, energy and industry organisations from the UK’s North West region took part in the event, which is organised by Mersey Maritime and celebrates achievements within the maritime sector.

Three of the region’s businesses were shortlisted for the ‘Engineering Company of the Year’ award. Sponsored by Liverpool John Moores University, the award is presented to companies able to demonstrate their credentials as a leader in its field, locally and internationally.

Specifically applicants for the award had to demonstrate their local and global maritime presence by submitting details from key projects over the previous 12 months. The projects submitted by the Royal HaskoningDHV Liverpool office projects not only highlighted the diverse engineering skills, but also local and global experience.

Projects submitted included:

•    The review of the proposed new Brisbane cruise terminal
•    Repair options for the Liverpool cruise terminal floating landing stages
•    A new cruise terminal building in Liverpool
•    Engineering procurement, design verification and commissioning of a new vehicle linkspan and passenger walkway at Ullapool
