The British Consul General in St. Petersburg Keith Allan, as a part of the working visit to Petrozavodsk, recently visited the Onezhsky Ship Building and Ship Repairing Plant (OSBSRP).

During the visit, the consul general met with workers and toured the company’s workshops. In particular, numerically controlled plasma cutting machines and workboats of project ST23WI – M, built under the FSUE “Rosmorport” order were demonstrated to him.

The consul also reviewed the progress of construction of the self-propelled hopper barge, project HB600. The official keel laying ceremony for the barge with hopper capacity of 600 cubic meters was held in OSBSRP on February 19, 2016.

A specific feature of the vessel construction is the modular method of hull construction, which reduces expenditure and facilitates installation of additional equipment.

The vessel is being constructed in order to maintain projected depths of hydrotechnical facilities in the Southern seaports of the country, as well as for continuous operation of the dredger fleet of FSUE Rosmorport.
