Wasa Announces Two Important Milestones

Wasa Dredging, a Finnish dredging equipment manufacturer and contractor, has just announced two important milestones.

The company recently locked down the Rauma Fairway and Harbor dredging project.

According to Wasa Dredging, this huge scheme is scheduled to last over 2 years.

The project will involve everything from rock blasting to dredging of hard and soft material, hopper dredging and environmental dredging, the company added.

The material from these dredging works will be used for the expansion of an already existing island in the Rauma area.

Wasa has also started construction of two new 1010 m³ self propelled split-barges, called SHB 1010-SP.

The vessels characteristic:

  • Hopper volume: 1010 m³;
  • Length: 66.5 m;
  • Width: 11.36 m;
  • Depth: 4 m;
  • Propulsion engine: 2 x 469 kW;
  • Class/Navigation: Bureau Veritas/20 NM offshore, Transfer navigation unrestricted.
