Boskalis’ Shoalway Busy in Aberdeen

Aberdeen Harbor Board’s annual maintenance dredging campaign started this week.

This year’s campaign is being carried out by the Boskalis Westminter vessels ‘Shoalway’ and ‘F48’, with assistance from the harbor’s own ‘Sea Herald’ work boat.

Dredging operations are being undertaken to ensure that water depth is maintain for the safe passage and berthing of vessels is an important duty for the management of any major port, and Aberdeen Harbor is no exception.

This dredging scheme will ensure that material brought into the harbor by winter weather conditions, or brought down the River Dee by winter storms, is removed and the water depth maintained.

It is estimated that the Aberdeen Harbor maintenance dredging campaign will last twelve days.
