PHOTOS: Students Tour DEME’s CSD d’Artagnan

The Belgian members of Young CEDA recently organised a one day program exclusively for students.

During the day students got on board Cutter Suction Dredger d’Artagnan which was dredging the access to the new lock at the end of Deurganckdock.

They also visited the dredging simulator at the DEME headquarters.

The day was made complete with a number of lectures on:

  • the second Waaslandsluis (Jan De Nul);
  • sedimentation analysis and monitoring (IMDC and DotOcean);
  • monitoring of flexible placement strategy of dredged material in the Westerschelde (Maritime Access Division of the Flemish Ministry of Mobility and Public Work).

During the day there were plenty opportunities to chat one to one with all the students and Young Professionals with some years of experience already in the industry.
