All Ready for Mandurah Seawall Project

Construction works to replace Mandurah’s old Eastern Foreshore seawall will start at the end of the month.

The seawall is in urgent need of replacement and has reached the end of its useful life, the City of Mandurah said.

The new two-level limestone seawall will feature a curved design and will extend into the estuary to allow for extra recreation space.

Curnow Group (Hire) Pty Ltd will carry out the works, which is set for completion towards the end of the year.

The new seawall includes approximately 550 m of retaining wall, and associated landscaping with feature paths, walls and seats.

Construction of the new seawall will start at the northern end of the foreshore and work its way south, and there will be no disruption to existing car parking areas.

Chief Executive Officer Mark Newman said that the City would be working hard to minimize the disruption and inconvenience during this major project.
