DAMEN Prepares TSHD Severnaya Dvina for Delivery

FSUE “Rosmorport” new trailing suction hopper dredger, the Severnaya Dvina, has arrived at the Damen Shiprepair yard in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, following a two month journey from Vietnam.

The vessel – built by Damen’s Song Thu Corporation shipyard in Da Nang – will now undergo final testing and outfighting ahead of the delivery ceremony set for late June.

Fitted with a complete Damen Dredging Equipment dredge and instrumentation package, the vessel is designed for efficient operation and ease of maintenance, including a Ø600 mm trailing pipe and hydraulic winches, a low pressure Damen inboard dredge pump for the most efficient hopper loading process, telescopic overflow and 5 rod-actuated bottom doors.

According to Project Manager, Harrold van Vliet, “Damen tailored the Severnaya Dvina design to meet the high specifications required to operate the vessels in the severe weather conditions of Russia’s northern region, with air temperatures ranging from -30°C to +40°C.

Following the delivery, the Severnaya Dvina will maintain navigational depths and provide safe shipping in the Arkhangelsk Seaport basin.
