Preparations for Laoag Dredging Scheme Underway

The City Government of Laoag is set to conduct a significant amount of dredging work, in order to prepare the area for the rainy days.

Mayor Chevylle V. Farinas said that city officials who are supervising the program will ensure better implementation to prevent flooding during this rainy season.

“This project will be monitored closely by the engineers including the barangay residents and the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC),” Farinas said.

In Laoag City, there are about six villages identified as flood-prone areas that needed quick response from the city in case of flooding.

Farinas has also urged the community to participate in this cleanup scheme and canal dredging activities.
