PHOTOS: Boskalis’ Terra Plana Sea Trials Successfully Completed

TBG Harlingen – Thecla Bodewes Group has just announced that the sea trials of the Boskalis’ new water injection dredger Terra Plana were successfully completed.

The contract for the construction of the Terra Plana was signed on June 3, 2015 and the actual work on the dredger began in September 2015.

Main characteristics of the Terra Plana:

  • Length overall – 39,8 m;
  • Length b.p.p. – 35,93 m;
  • Breadth – 12 m;
  • Moulded depth – 4,1 m;
  • Design draught – 3,0 m;
  • Max. dredging depth – 30 m;
  • Min. dredging depth – 3 m;
  • Total installed power – 3.423 kW;
  • Jet pump output – 12.000 m³/hr;
  • Navigation speed – 11 knots;
  • Dynamic positioning system – Navis;
  • Main engines – 2×746 kW (Caterpillar).
