Work Progresses on New Split Hull Dump Scow

Burnham Associates, Inc. of Boston (MA) has just announced that the construction works on the company’s new 3,000 CY split hull dredge barge are entering the final phase.

The vessel to be named THOMAS DESMOND is being built at Sterling Shipyard of Port Neches, TX, USA.

The newbuild will be utilized by its owner, and others, to support dredging projects along the east coast of the United States.

According to Burnham Associates, the vessel is built to ABS Loadline standards, radio controlled and DQM prepared.

Delivery of the THOMAS DESMOND is expected to take place in late August, 2016.
