The 1000 m³ trailing suction hopper dredger ‘Sommers’ has begun its first dredging project in the Port of Makhachkala.
Recently delivered TSHD Sommers is the lead vessel in a series of three 1000m³ TSHDs, built by Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard under the order of FSUE Rosmorport.
Delivery of the other two dredgers, Kronshlot and Kadosh, is expected to take place before the end of 2016.
The TSHDs were designed by Damen Shipyards Gorinchem, the Netherlands, with the working design documentation provided by Volga-Caspian Design Bureau (MNP Group), Russia.
