Oswego Harbor dredging

Several leaders, including Congressman John Katko, Oswego Mayor Billy Barlow along with representatives from Senator Chuck Schumer’s office, gathered yesterday to celebrate the completion of the Oswego Harbor dredging project.

After five weeks of work, this nearly $1 million worth dredging project was completed on time and within the budget.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District, awarded the contract to Luedtke Engineering Company of Frankfort (MI) in late June.

The project included dredging of the harbor mouth, the outer harbor and the western channel area.

During the works, over 170.000 cubic yards of dredged material was removed from the federal navigation channel.
