Bids Invited for Antwerp’s 4th Harbor Dock Channel Dredging

Antwerp Port Authority has invited bidders to submit their offers for the 4th Harbor Dock channel dredging project.

This contract aims to carry out dredging on the harbor floor in the Antwerp Dock Complex on the right bank with the main goal to creating more depth for shipping.

The overall objective of this framework is to make it possible for ships with a draft of 14m to reach the northern part of the 4th Haven Dock.

These dredging works are necessary because the northern quays need to be deepened to the level of the concession Noord Natie Terminals to receive vessels with a greater draft.

Harbor Dock dredging plan includes substantially dredging of contaminated material as well as less polluted material, and partially silty sand.

The material will be dredged in an environmentally-friendly method and removed.

The contractor will be responsible for obtaining all legally required authorizations, permits and/or licenses for the transport and processing (disposal and/or recovery) of the dredged material.

Deadline for this tender is September 5, 2016 and the project should last no longer than 140 days.
