Clearwater Dredging Scheme About to Begin

Gator Dredging, a Florida based dredging contractor, will begin dredge operations on or about September 15 within the Clearwater Pass Federal Navigation Channel, east of Clearwater Point.

A hydraulic swing dredger will be used from a shallow draft barge with submerged pipeline to the dewatering site located under the 699-Gulf Blvd Bridge or the vacant upland property immediately west of the bridge.

The only floating pipeline will be directly behind the dredger to allow for vessel mobility.

“The pipeline will be marked and lighted per USCG regulations and mariners are urged to use extreme caution and transit the area at their slowest safe speed to create minimum wake,” the officials stated.

The Clearwater Pass dredging scheme is expected to be completed around November 30, 2016.
