Oman to Host Port Development Middle East Conference

In less than two weeks, maritime and port development stakeholders from Oman, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Iran will be meeting at the Port Development Middle East conference that will take place from 17-18 October at the Grand Millennium Muscat, Oman.

Last year’s Port Development Middle East Forum concluded with one resounding remark: “Ports are the future”! Diversification is driving development of ports in the Middle East.

In light of this, this year’s event will host major project owners from the Middle East to not only discuss plans to develop strategic trade routes but to also reveal exclusive project updates for some of the region’s most imminent port project.

This represents a unique opportunity to hear about how:

  • Sohar Port is launching its new masterplan as it aims to expand its infrastructure;
  • King Abdullah Port is going to launch the first privately owned and operated port in the GCC;
  • Iran is planning to develop 5 of its major ports and is looking for international partners;
  • New Port Project will accomplish completing their port 10 years ahead of schedule.
