The Port of Seattle has completed the environmental analysis, including review of pertinent and available information, prepared the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for the Terminal 5 Improvements project, and announced the issuance of the FEIS for the project.
The Port of Seattle, acting as lead agency for environmental review of the project under the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA), has determined that the FEIS is adequate and complies with the requirements of SEPA.
Under the project, the Port of Seattle is proposing construction to rehabilitate existing marine cargo facilities at Terminal 5.
The project includes modifications to the existing Terminal S marine cargo facility in order to serve larger cargo vessels. The proposed changes consist of cargo wharf rehabilitation, deepening of the vessel berth, electrical service capacity improvements, and upland improvements. Existing cargo terminal uses will continue at the terminal.
The Terminal 5 is a 197 acre facility located on the west shoreline of the West Waterway, in southwest Elliott Bay, approximately 1.5 miles southwest from the City of Seattle urban center.
