CEDA Iberian Dredging Conference Set for Next Week

Central Dredging Association (CEDA) will be co-hosting a conference, with the Portuguese Engineers Association in Lisbon from 27-28th October.

The CEDA Iberian Conference, with the central theme ‘Dredging for sustainable port development’, will be a platform for environmental engineering and management best-practice in the context of real-life Iberian projects.

Conference Chair, Stefan Aarninkhof, Professor of Coastal Engineering at Delft University of Technology, said: “Spanish and Portuguese professionals in the field of dredging and port construction initiated this event, inspired by increasing environmental and societal demands on the preparation and implementation of marine infrastructure projects. CEDA was delighted to accept the invitation to organize this unique gathering and it will address key topics relevant to the success of port dredging and sediment management projects, with a focus on the Iberian Peninsula.

With high-profile speakers from nine different countries, the conference will reflect current thinking on the implementation of sustainability ambitions in the field of port development.

Also, as part of their commitment to attracting and keeping young engineers in the dredging industry, delegates will get to hear from young professionals in the Young CEDA Pitch Talk session.
