This October was another busy month for Young CEDA, according to the Central Dredging Association’s latest announcement.

On Thursday, October 20, Royal IHC experts joined 25 students and young professionals at an event to give them an insight into dredging and marine construction.

Introductory presentations were followed by a guided tour at the Royal IHC yard in Kinderdijk, which included an extensive on-site preview of the self-propelled cutter suction dredger Helios.

The IHC yard recently completed installation of the cutter ladder for this Boskalis’ megacutter.

The Helios has an overall length of approximately 152m, a total installed power of 23,700kW and a pump ashore capacity of 15,600kW.

It is expected that the vessel will be delivered to Boskalis in the course of 2017.
