ESCP to Hold Hill Head Phase 2 Exhibition

The Eastern Solent Coastal Partnership will hold a public exhibition on Thursday, 10th November, to present best coastal protection option for the Hill Head Sea Defense Scheme Phase 2.

Following the recent completion of the phase 1, ESCP has identified the leading option to construct a new seawall.

The aim of this project is to develop, design and build a cost effective sea defense option, at Hill Head in Fareham.

Phase 2 draft preferred option:

  • The preferred option is to build a sheet pile wall with concrete capping beam;
  • Widens the promenade by approximately 1.5 meters (5 feet), improving public access along the frontage;
  • Straightens out the “kink” in the promenade;
  • Provides an increased wall height by 0.6m (2 feet). This will address the current wave overtopping which has made the promenade impassable in previous storms.

The public exhibition will take place between 1pm and 8pm at the Holy Rood Church, Stubbington, Fareham.

Also, ESCP will be holding additional drop in events on the 11th and 14th November between 12pm – 3pm at the Titchfield Haven Visitor Centre, Hill Head.
