Clifton Springs Dredging Program Kicks Off

Maintenance dredging operations on the Clifton Springs Boat Harbor officially started last week, according to the Parks Victoria’s latest Notice to Mariners.

This dredging scheme will take place at the entrance and within the harbor, the release stated.

Dredging works within the entrance to the harbor will be carried out by a small cutter suction dredge, with spoil disposal to be pumped through a discharge pipe to the contained basin along the eastern edge of the harbor.

“There will be no on-water plant, equipment or potential hazards on the water between sunset and sunrise,” said the Parks.

“Mariners are advised to exercise caution when navigating within the vicinity of the harbor entrance due to floating plant.”

The completion of the Clifton Springs dredging project is scheduled for 10 December, weather permitting.
