Millport Flood Protection Proposals on the Table

North Ayrshire Council is to hold two separate sessions in the following days to explain the blueprint for the Millport Coastal Flood Protection Scheme.

The sessions will include special workshops which will allow people to view the different proposals and give their feedback on the designs.

Councillor Jim Montgomerie, Cabinet member for Place, said: “I’m sure the people of Millport will be keen to see the draft plans that have been drawn up for the flood protection scheme. It has been a big undertaking by the Council and a number of options have been drawn up to offer long-term protection against flooding.”

“The consultation exercises will also include design workshop events with all the important information about the proposed scheme clearly displayed – covering everything from why the scheme is needed to the technical and environmental considerations.

“This is a chance for residents and all interested parties to have their say on the possible designs and we look forward to engaging with them.”

The public consultation is scheduled to take place on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, 29 November;
  • Thursday, 1 December.

Both consultation events will take place in the DA Hall, The Garrison, Millport.
