Public Meeting on Ocean City Dredging Set for Next Week

The Ocean City officials will host a public meeting next weekend to discuss their short term plan for the city’s 2017 dredge program.

Officials will discuss a potential short term plan that involves using city-owned property at the far end of Shelter Road as a transfer point for dredged material during the meeting on Saturday, December 10, at the Howard S. Stainton Senior Center, 10 a.m.

The 2017 dredge program is anticipated to include completion of long-awaited dredging in South Harbor and other mid-island lagoons.

“We have an opportunity to save Ocean City’s dredging program for 2017 and at the same time ensure that we can keep your waterways dredged and navigable long into the future,” the city said in its announcement.

Officials will also provide information and solicit feedback on new technology being used in the process.
