Engineering Department of the Sandefjord Municipality in Vestfold County, Norway, recently released tender for the Cleaner Sandefjord Fjord project.
The tender includes dredging, disposal and covering of polluted seabed, which if performed right will reduce the negative impacts from environmental poisons in the Sandefjord Fjord.
“ In order to achieve this, the seabed of the Sandefjord Fjord shall be covered with clean masses in an 1.05 km² area, from the inner harbor to the Trangsholmene ,” the tender notice said.
According to the city, the dredging will be conducted in order to ensure sufficient sailing depth subsequent to the covering. The dredged material will be disposed at a designated location in the Sandefjord Fjord.
The plan calls for work to begin in early 2017 with the completion set for November 30, 2017.
The deadline for tender submission is January 23rd 2017.
