VIDEO: Delaware Beachfill Project Wrapped Up

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the State of Delaware and Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company recently completed dredging and beachfill operations at Rehoboth and Dewey Beaches in Delaware.

The dredgers Dodge Island and Padre Island completed the work, which is designed to reduce damages from coastal storm.

The goal of the scheme, worth $11.2 million, was to replenish sand on Dewey Beach and Rehoboth Beach caused by storm damage, construct automotive and pedestrian dune crossings, install sand fence and plant dune grass and install two storm water outfall extensions at Virginia Avenue and Maryland Avenue.
