Seminar on Thames Dredging Opportunities Next Week

A seminar on ‘Thames Dredging Opportunities’, organized by Young CEDA, is set to take place next week, 22 February, 2017, at the University College London, the Central Dredging Association (CEDA) said.

During the seminar, Young CEDA will facilitate a lively and relevant seminar on dredging opportunities for the River Thames, aimed at anyone working or studying in a related field.

Young CEDA – youthful CEDA members all over the world – actively participates in the organization of the CEDA Dredging Days, seminars and national meetings but also organizes its own activities.

“Through questions at the end of the sessions we hope that both young and experienced professionals will be able to discuss the topics covered and conversations can be continued during the breaks. This will also be a superb opportunity to network with fellow professionals,” the organizers said in its announcement.

The keynote speakers:

  • Dr Ian Selby, Head of Minerals and Infrastructure, The Crown Estate: ‘Opportunities for the Marine Resource’;
  • Alex Mortley, Conservancy Manager, Port of London Authority: ‘Dredging – a means to discover our maritime heritage’;
  • Steve Massey, Divisional Business Manager, Land and Water: ‘Wandle Weir Case Study’.
