Bangkok Deputy Governor Tours Flood Protection Projects

Deputy Governor of Bangkok, Chakkaphan Phiew-ngam, yesterday inspected the flood protection projects in Bang Sue and Chatuchak districts, according to National News Bureau of Thailand (NNT).

One of the flood-prone areas in Bang Sue district is on the Pracharat Sai Song road near the Tao Pun junction.

The district office had earlier installed pumps in the area but it was still submerged when it rained, NNT said in the announcement.

The deputy governor therefore instructed the district office and the department of public works to work together in tackling the flooding problems by more dredging work or installing more pumps.

If the road needed to be lifted, it should be done before the rainy season this year, said Mr. Chakkaphan.

In Chatuchak district, the deputy governor went to inspect the Ratchadaphisek 42 and 36 roads, calling for more dredging work in these areas.
