The Port of Esbjerg expansion scheme is progressing according to schedule, the port said in its latest project update.

The expansion project, which started in January 2017, includes an extension of the existing Libra Quay with a new mooring pier and the establishment of two new Ro-Ro ramps.

Sheet piling and foundation work is in full progress, the Danish port stated in the announcement.

The entire facility is expected to be operational in November 2017 and will give access to 250,000m² newly established port area.

The Port of Esbjerg has undergone major transformation from fishing industry and export of agricultural produce to today’s three dominant business areas: intermodal transport, wind and oil/gas.
