Cashman Dredging and Marine Contracting Company, LLC of Quincy, Massachusetts, has won a $9.3 million contract for the Housatonic River dredging project.

Work will be performed in Madison, Connecticut, with an estimated completion date of March 15, 2018.

Maintenance dredging is required in order to restore most of the authorized depth and width of the channel, USACE said. This cleanup scheme will be performed by using a mechanical dredger.

Bids were solicited via the Internet with three received, according to the U.S. Department of Defense’s latest announcement.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, is the contracting activity.
