Lake Lochmere Dredging Starts in May

The Lochmere Board of Directors and Lakes Committee announced recently that Lake Lochmere dredging project will begin next month.

During the works, approximately four acres of the north section of the lake will be cleared of silt.

Estate Management Services from Georgia will be conducting this work, reported the lochmere.org.

The method of removal will involve hydraulically pumping the silt from the lake into dewatering bags. These specially designed bags will allow the water to drain back into the lake while the silt is contained in the bags.

Work, scheduled to begin the week of May 15th, will close the entire north section of the lake for approximately two weeks or more.
